CIVIL RIGHTS COMMITTEE CALLS FOR CULTURE OF SOLIDARITY

|
AFSCME 1180 has always been mindful of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s contribution to the labor and civil rights movement. For that reason, we have consistently and enthusiastically participated in Tulsa’s MLK parade. This year, however, the newly formed Civil Rights Committee elected to take a more measured and long-term approach to keeping Dr. King’s spirit alive at 1180. Under the visionary leadership of Vince McGee and other Committee participants, the 1180 Civil Rights Committee has resolved to sustain an ongoing commitment year round to developing a culture of solidarity between Tulsa’s minority communities and the union. Check back next month for important updates on how you can get involved to help us foster this culture.
