As you may already be aware, the Mayor announced last Friday that he intends to give the non-union City employees a 3% stipend on December 15^th. I have been petitioned by some members of the Local to call a Special Membership Meeting to discuss the Mayor’s action and our plan for fighting back. I have called for a Special Membership Meeting on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.The Meeting will be held at the Union Hall, 1285 S Detroit Ave, Tulsa, OK 74120.

Since the Mayor’s announcement, there seems to be confusion about what this means for us. As to be expected, rumors and disinformation has been circulating in work locations. Specifically, you may have heard that this special meeting on December 12^this a “strike vote.” To be clear, the purpose of this meeting is to hear opinions from the membership, and to discuss our negotiations plan. We will be happy to discuss other rumors that you may have heard, and new efforts we are making to ensure that members have an easy way to get the latest and most accurate information at all times.
